Mission Cancer Center's healing environment begins with a beautiful garden featuring a fountain, native plants, and a reflection pool that greets visitors upon arrival at the front entrance of the 120,000-square-foot, five-story center. The building is situated off of Victoria Road and McDowell Street, a short distance from the Memorial Campus. An attached parking deck with space for 350 cars is located behind the Mission Cancer Center, providing easy access to all floors.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification Beautiful landscaping with native plants make the grounds a green and environmentally responsible location. The capture and reuse of rainwater, along with many other design elements such as use of local stone, makes this project Mission's first LEED- certified building, an internationally recognized green-building certification.

Accommodating future expansion A variety of shell space is included throughout the building, to accommodate future program growth. During site visits to other cancer centers, the planning team encountered a consistent theme of "we were out of space from the time we moved in." Mission Cancer Center is designed to anticipate growth, and provide room for expansion without costly construction or remodeling.
