Most parents want to watch their children get good grades in school, make lots of meaningful connections with friends, and help out with chores around the house. But when you are the parent of a child with special needs, small, seemingly insignificant behaviors, such as eye-contact, a smile or just a day spent without incident at school can become major achievements for your child.
Addressing the unique needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, attention deficits and/or learning disabilities, and Developmental Delays requires more than medical evaluation and treatment. The Behavioral Health Services provided by the Olson Huff Center allow for the treatment of the whole person by integrating the treatment of your child's mental and medical health needs seamlessly.
Our comprehensive team of psychologists, social workers and family therapists work together to address your child's health needs as well as the emotional needs of your family unit.

- Oppositional and defiant behaviors
Our Services
We strive to make normal childhood behaviors the rule, not the exception, for your child. We work collaboratively to empower you to understand challenging behavior and work to develop strategies for teaching your child more adaptive behavior. Parents or caregivers are an integral part of the care we provide and are often directly involved in the counseling. We follow a family systems approach which does not separate the child from his or her support system but rather works to strengthen all areas of that system. We provide:
Family Counseling & Support
- Family-centered psychotherapy
- Integrated and collaborative care model
- Play and behavioral therapy
- Parent education
Pediatric Psychology:
- Diagnostic assessments
- Specialized behavior treatment for children with developmental disabilities
Outcomes to Expect
Outcomes vary for each child, but behavioral therapy has been shown to be very effective in improving social behaviors and improved functioning - at home, at school and in the community. Parents can expect meaningful gains in their child's development and gain a clearer understanding of their child and the role of family participation in treatment.
