Lighten Up 4 Life Employer's Council

New Lighten Up 4 Life Employer's Council
to Share Wellness Ideas

The Lighten Up 4 Life teams from our community workforce have experienced many successes and a few rocky spots on the road to weight loss and better health. But one thing is certain. Employers in our region are committed to keeping up the fight to help employees stay focused on the goal of improving overall health. That's why Mission Hospital and many local employers have teamed up to form the Lighten Up 4 Life Employers Council, where they will be able to share information on what wellness plans are working, what can be done as a community to improve and support wellness, and what resources are out there for use in reaching company goals.

"A number of employers came forward during the Lighten Up 4 Life challenge and said how great it was that Mission was doing this," says Becky Brown, Marketing Manager and co-coordinator for the Lighten Up 4 Life event. "They wanted to know if we could form a council to share resources, education and support to keep it going throughout the year." The council had its first meeting several weeks ago and agreed to continue with a forum to share ideas and information. "The issue of wellness is a community issue and both Mission and these employers are committed to the big picture," Brown adds. "This council will no doubt be a positive learning experience for all involved."
