Each MAMA crew is comprised of a pilot, flight nurse, and flight paramedic or respiratory therapist with the addition of a NICU nurse for neonatal emergencies. The medical crews are highly credentialed and experienced, and are trained to perform advanced skills such as RSI, central IV insertion, surgical and needle cricothyrotomy, pleural decompression, and IO. In addition, O-negative blood is carried for emergency transfusion.

MAMA pilots have thousands of hours or rotorcraft flight time, and several have served in the military.
MAMA has three full-time mechanics that are highly skilled and are available 24 hours per day.
All of MAMA's pilots and mechanics are employees of Air Methods Corporation, a company specializing in air medical transportation services. Air Methods is based in Colorado.
