The mission of the Staff Development Coordinator is to promote, facilitate, and guide the professional growth and clinical development of nurses at Mission Hospital, by leading numerous educational initiatives and providing essential services that include:

Providing orientation, in-service and continuing education for nursing staff, including Travelers

Developing, implementing, and evaluating educational and staff development opportunities, including the Nurse Internship Program

Leading, managing, monitoring, evaluating, & revising educational programs to meet standards

Collaborating with other health care professionals to plan and implement educational programs

Administering the North Carolina Nurses Association providership for continuing education

Producing learning resources in collaboration with media specialists

Providing Nurse Preceptor and Nurse Mentor development initiatives

Consulting for educational programming

Using creative technology to enhance and promote productivity and to influence the work environment infrastructure
