Gynecologic Oncology
HOPE-A Women's Cancer Center, is a full-scope oncology practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of women's reproductive cancers as well as breast disorders and breast cancer. While most gynecologic oncologists treat only reproductive cancers, HOPE offers comprehensive treatment for breast cancer patients and draws on other specialties including physical rehabilitation practitioners and reconstructive surgeons to help provide support to women before, during and after their treatment.

  • Seven day a week reproductive technologies for women at any point in their menstrual cycle
  • Full in-vitro fertilization center that includes treatment of male infertility
  • Assisted reproductive technology

Urogynecology
Women experiencing chronic incontinence and/or loss of anatomic pelvic support can be evaluated and treated by a fellowship-trained subspecialist in urogynecology. Services offered include:

  • Use of advanced diagnostic tools to determine the cause of either urinary or fecal incontinence
  • Treatment of women who have sustained childbirth injuries including too much stretching of the vaginal walls as well as a weakened pelvic floor
  • Treatment of incontinence or loss of pelvic support due to lack of hormones
  • Advanced surgical techniques including grafts and the use of specialized equipment for women when traditional surgery has failed

Minimally Invasive Surgery
At Mission Hospitals, a group of medical professionals is specifically trained for and dedicated to minimally invasive surgery. The Minimally Invasive Surgical Team (MIST) utilizes both laparascopic technology, in which the surgeon enters through the patient's belly button, and hysteroscopic surgeries, in which the surgeon enters through the patient's vagina. Smaller incisions or even no incision generally result in reduced pain, reduced time lost from work and family, and offers an alternative to the traditional six-week recovery from surgery. MIST handles the following:
  • One day surgeries that take between 2-6 hours
  • Vaginal hysterectomies requiring no incision or laparoscopic hysterectomy in which there are only small incisions
  • Removal of fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and surgical adhesions or scar tissue with laparascopic techniques
  • Hysteroscopic surgery to remove polyps and/or fibroids
