John Maher

John J. Maher is Vice President of System Development and System Services for Mission Health. John J. Maher is Vice President of System Development and System Services for Mission Health. 

Maher, in this position, assists Mission Health, area hospitals and affiliated physicians in the development of an integrated region health system serving the health needs of the population throughout western North Carolina. He also has responsibility for Community Relations and Marketing, Public Policy and Strategic Planning.

Prior to joining Mission Health System, Maher served as President and CEO of St. Vincent's HealthCare, a not-for-profit health system in Jacksonville, FL, which includes two hospitals, a nursing home, physician's practices, a foundation, and other health-related entities. He has also served as President and CEO of Baptist/St. Vincent's in Jacksonville, FL, and as President and CEO of Sisters Healthcare in Buffalo, NY.

Maher holds both a master's degree in Healthcare Administration and an MBA from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, as well as a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN.
