In addition to expert medical treatment, our patients and their families receive education, emotional and social support and have access to programs designed to meet their ongoing needs. With the goal of addressing the whole child, Mission Children’s Hospital offers clinical social workers, pet therapy, child life and parent-to-parent matches through the Family Support Network.
Many resources are available to our patient, below are just a few:
Arts For Life
The Arts for Life staff, together with dedicated volunteers, teach the creative arts while building a foundation of hope for a positive future.
Child Life
As the only Child Life program in Western North Carolina, our goal is to ease the child's concerns and provide a more comfortable hospital experience by helping the child prepare for the situation they face.
Family Support Network
The Family Support Network™ provides families faced with special health care, behavioral, mental or physical needs with emotional support and information from other families with similar life experiences.
Pet Therapy
If you love animals, you already know how healing their presence can be. At Mission Children's Hospital, carefully trained and screened (and freshly bathed!) therapy dogs visit with the children to help brighten their day.
If you find you are in need of support please call us directly at 828-213-9770.
