Services Provided
  • Pediatric Cancer:  Children diagnosed with any type of cancer receive inpatient treatment in our specialty unit and outpatient care at Zeis Children’s Cancer Center. Comprehensive treatments available in the pediatric cancer program include chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and child-friendly activities to teach about side-effects and lifestyle changes for the best possible recovery. Alternative therapies such as animal, art and music therapy are also available.

  •  Blood Disorders:   Infants, children and adolescents diagnosed with blood disorders receive life-time care that incorporates education and social services with medical treatments such as blood product transfusions, steroid management, and anticoagulant or factor replacement therapies. Mission Children’s Hospital is the region’s referral center for the North Carolina Sickle Cell Syndrome Program. Our team is trained to diagnose and treat children with sickle cell disease.

  •  Patient and Family Resources:  In addition to expert medical treatment, our patients and their families receive education, emotional and social support and have access to programs designed to meet their ongoing needs. With the goal of addressing the whole child, Mission Children’s Hospital offers clinical social workers, Arts for Life, pet therapy, child life and parent-to-parent matches through the Family Support Network.
