Internal Medicine / Family Medicine

4 weeks (optional 6-8 weeks)
Critical Care 4 weeks (optional 6-8 weeks)

Cardiology

4 weeks
Infectious Disease 4 weeks (optional 6-8 weeks)

Metabolic Support

2 weeks (optional 4 weeks)
Drug Information 4 weeks

Management

4 weeks

Any of the above rotations could also be considered as electives if repeated beyond Required Learning Experiences.

  • Emergency Medicine
  • NeuroTrauma Critical Care or Medical-Surgical Critical Care
  • Pediatrics/NICU
  • Psychiatry
  • Oncology/Pediatric Oncology
  • Ambulatory Care
  • Medication Safety

ABCCM (Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministry Volunteer Clinic) One evening/mo

Management Seminars

ACLS Training 2 days in Fall and attend Code Blue emergencies throughout the year

Major Presentation (one minimum)
(MAHEC CE, Int Med Conf, Cards Conf)

One per year
SERC (Southeastern Residency Conf) presentation One per year (Spring)

Manuscript submission to a journal

Due at end of year
Pharmacokinetics / Statistics Review
(With PharmD students)
2 days in August

Drug Information Projects

  • Drug monograph (usually completed and presented in August)
  • Journal Club presentations (usually completed while on DI rotation)
  • P&T newsletter (completed by the end of the year)
